Very poor understanding and zero common sense

Holiday booked. The day before departure my husband picked up the motorhome from storage only to find it had developed an engine fault. Having done 3800 miles and only 14 months old, something we were not expecting. Telephone call to AA and after 2 hours trying to fix the problem we were told it would have to go into Ford to be repaired. Never mind, we have insurance. Ha! We were told the breakdown was a preventable occurrence and as such we were not covered. On a new vehicle with such a low mileage? Doesn’t matter we should have checked it the week before date of travel, and then if there was a problem it could have been fixed! Balderdash! Reviewed on: 9th June 2024

Do not waste your time with ALLIANZ, shocking company

Beware, do not rely on the travel insurance supplied by ALLIANZ. They will do everything they can to no pay out a claim. They are unprofessional and not credible do not waste your time. They will request documents and then tell you under section whatever your claim has been denied. There are good insurance companies out there, use one of them instead - do not rely on these jokers Reviewed on: 25th January 2024

Success at financial ombudsman

My flights got cancelled 48 hrs before . They said I needed to be checked in on the plane. Terrible insurance. I went through the ombudsman. The first one said I could have still got there. Short of donning my swimsuit I couldn’t get there. I appealed again the ombudsman and won. 1year later I was paid in full minus my excess. Pathetic company. Can’t be relied on Reviewed on: 20th December 2023

Worst service I have ever received from any company.

Allianz insurance provides the travel insurance for premium Lloyds Bank account. as a result I made the mistake of not insuring myself elsewhere. After 23 years of paying for this I made a clain in July 23. They repeatedly requested the same documents and madeexcuses that the formats were not correct,. Every time I called was requested to send something else, again. until, eventully, they agreed to pay out (for a flight change). They then sent half of the agreed amount ithout explanation. I have started a formailcomplaint process but I expect tis will go on to the Ombudsman. I'm glad it wasn't for a medical emergency and was just for myself and not my family. No response after 12 weeks

Having put in a claim I have received zero response and written feedback. Customer service line twice waited over 40 mins and then cut off. Can't think of any worse service experience anywhere. Would rather Lloyd's removed it and we choose our own which would definitely not be Allianz. Reviewed on: 30th September 2023

ABYSMAL TREATMENT BY ALLIANZ

After 10 months they have still not paid the Hospital in Belgium where my daughter was treated - they have been telling me that it was cleared for payment six months ago. I just tried to call them this evening and after ten minutes on hold to the correct Allianz number I ended up being asked to leave a message on a Tesco Mobile voicemail - why am I not surprised? You get what you pay for and relying on Lloyds "Free" travel insurance with your account is something you should think seriously about - we have now taken out family cover with a new insurer. TERRIBLE AND VERY WORRYING

If you bank with Lloyds and use their Allianze Assistance travel insurance please read these reviews! It appears they simply don’t payout or deal with enquiries satisfactorily. I have a badly damaged suitcase, done when being handled by P&O on disembarkation, Filled in the necessary paperwork at the docks and was told to claim on insurance. My claim was refused and very weak excuse given, they have no managers so you can’t escalate a claim., so come up against a brick wall. Why are Lloyds Bank using such a terrible company to insure their customers? My claim is only for a suitcase, but what about poor people who need hospital treatment? Reviewed on: 8th July 2023
